SPIROMETER
As part of my consultations, I use a spirometer to assess lung function. This device accurately measures the volume and flow of exhaled air, which is essential for screening, diagnosing, or monitoring certain respiratory conditions.
Spirometry is a simple, quick, and painless test performed at the practice, particularly in the following situations:
-
Smoking, to evaluate the impact of tobacco on lung capacity,
-
Asthma or suspected respiratory disease,
-
Monitoring of chronic conditions such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
This tool allows me to tailor treatment more precisely and, if necessary, refer to a pulmonologist.
DERMATOSCOPE
The dermatoscope is a non-invasive medical imaging tool equipped with a lighting and magnification system, allowing for a detailed view of skin structures that are invisible to the naked eye.
Its use enables better evaluation of pigmented lesions to detect early signs of skin cancer (especially melanoma), a more accurate diagnosis of benign dermatological conditions (such as cysts, keratoses, angiomas…), and more reliable referral to a specialist when necessary.
DIGITAL OTOSCOPE
During consultations, I use a digital otoscope to examine the ears. This modern tool provides a precise, real-time view of the ear canal and eardrum on a screen, significantly improving diagnostic accuracy.
It allows for easier detection of infections (such as otitis), earwax blockages, or eardrum perforations. It also enables patients to see live images, helping them better understand their condition, and allows image storage when follow-up is needed. The digital otoscope is a valuable tool that makes the examination more reliable, educational, and comfortable for the patient.
ELECTROCARDIOGRAM
As part of my consultations, I offer electrocardiograms (ECG) directly at the practice. This quick, painless, and non-invasive test records the heart’s electrical activity to help detect potential cardiac abnormalities such as arrhythmias, signs of a heart attack, or side effects of certain treatments.
This immediate diagnostic tool allows me to adjust the management plan promptly and, if necessary, refer to a specialist for further care.
